Another long weekend, another trip.
This time, I did a girls’ trip to Marrakesh, Morocco — country #70 for me! Yay!
Below is a photo of the budget breakdown I keep in my Excel spreadsheet:

Let me start with the flight, which was booked last year in July! Yes, July.
The flight is with TAP Portugal – this is my second time flying with them.
The total cost of the flight was $1093.00 CAD.
I know this isn’t exactly a “cheap” deal like most of my trips, but for flying all the way to North Africa on a long weekend? Not terrible.
The AirBnB we chose for this trip is an absolute-freaking-gem.
Basically I made a group wish list on AirBnB with the other three girls on this trip, and we all took a vote. The AirBnB we ended up choosing was the only one all four of us had given the thumbs up to.
We chose a riad in a central location with perfect reviews, breakfast included – oh, and it is four bedroom and four bathroom WITH a rooftop pool. Insane.
The total cost for three nights was $1632.00 CAD, which comes to $408.00 CAD per person. I know there were many cheaper alternatives to be found, but, YOLO. Will let you know if it was worth it when we return.

We pre-booked/paid for three activities.
The first one was a food tour. Food, very important to all four of us. I happened to come across a video of Mark Wiens doing this specific food tour and I saw them eating snails. I said SNAILS? Yes. Sign me up.
The cost of the food tour was 60 Euros, which is $92.77 CAD per person. The link to it can be found here.
I am not a fashion girlie, but my friends are. The next activity we booked was a visit to the famous YSL Museum. Seeing the Yves Saint Laurent displays should be gorgeous. The cost was 140 Moroccan Dirhams, which is $20.20 CAD per person.

Finally, a BIG activity.
How does a sunrise hot air balloon ride sound? Yeah. Sounds pretty fucking epic. The total cost of this excursion was $206.03 CAD per person.
I can’t waaaait to come back and talk about how bad ass (hopefully) this was. I’ve never been on a hot air balloon ride. The link to this can be found here.
For spending money I budgeted 100 Euros, which is $157.00 CAD and 2233 Moroccan Dirhams, which is $350.00 CAD.
We have a spa booking, some fancy dinners and a VIP club booking. Not sure if this will be enough, but I’ve learned to at least keep SOME cash on me.
The total budget for this trip is $2327.00 Canadian.
I realize it sounds nuts for just a long weekend away, but I wanted something BIG to celebrate #70.
This absolutely could have been done for cheaper. I get that. But it wasn’t.
