Yes, here to overshare again.
The boyfriend and I decided in August to book a quick beach getaway for November, and the choice was Roatán, Honduras. Neither of us have ever been here, and have you seen photos of the beaches? Wow.
Yes please, Roatán me.
Below is a photo of the budget breakdown I keep on my Excel spreadsheet:

I plan on this being another vacation where I try to do nothing but drink and lay on a beach. Pure relaxation
The flight was a decent price, I think.
We got the roundtrip flight on American Airlines, with a quick layover in Miami both ways for $746.00 per person.
By the looks of it, flying during the week is cheaper going there…. but yeah, have to maximize those weekends + vacation days.
We looked at all the places to stay on the island, and wanted to make sure we were beachfront. MOST IMPORTANT. I want to roll out of bed and onto the beach. Also, the prices on the island are super reasonable.
This is how we settled on Bananarama Dive & Beach Resort.
The cost of 3-nights at Bananarama is $342.00 for the Queen Room, so $171.00 per person.

For this trip, NO TESTING OR VISA IS REQUIRED.
From all the reading I did, I think Roatán is a good budget destination.
I exchanged $330.00 Canadian into $250.00USD for this trip. This should cover taxis and food/alcohol. The food on this island looks like it will be AMAZING and I definitely plan on indulging. Also, I have my boyfriend with me so any other costs, he’s there with me.
The total budget for this trip is $1247.00 Canadian for me.
I think if we got the flight for cheaper, this is totally doable for under $1000.00 but oh well. I’m super duper excited to visit. I love a nice beach and I knowwwwwww this will be a wonderful place to see.
